The RoleWe are looking for a Logistics & Drivers Supervisor to join our team, delivering healthy, nutritious food across Wellington College. You will lead and motivate the drivers’ team, ensuring that all food service, transport, and delivery operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
You will be responsible for meeting high operational standards, overseeing health and safety compliance, and supporting exceptional customer experiences. Your role will also include managing vehicles, stock, and the team’s performance, and proactively improving processes where possible.
What You’ll Be DoingCatering & Logistics Operations:
Create daily driver task lists and ensure timely completion.
Monitor food hygiene, health and safety standards, including allergen and refrigeration records.
Deliver meals with care, ensuring dietary requirements are met, including special diets.
Maintain vehicle hygiene and arrange regular maintenance and MOTs.
Manage the Transport File, report incidents, and oversee stock levels.
Implement and review cleaning schedules, safe systems of work, and risk assessments.
People Leadership:
Supervise, train, and support the drivers’ team in all operational procedures.
Conduct performance feedback, team huddles, and safety focus moments.
Promote a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment.
Role model supervisory behaviours and hold yourself and others accountable.
Business Improvement:
Seek out innovative ways to improve service delivery and efficiency.
Proactively overcome operational barriers and provide feedback for improvement.
Undertake occasional duties outside the routine scope of work as required.
