Location: Bilston, West Midlands (UK-wide travel)

Salary: DOE + Uncapped Commission / Bonus

The Opportunity

MET Recruitment has partnered exclusively with Bowers & Jones, a world-renowned leader in the design, manufacture, and refurbishment of rolling mill components, to recruit a driven, new-business-focused Sales Engineer.

The Role

This is a pure new business / hunter role. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, opening doors, and converting prospects into new customers. Working closely with internal engineering and operations teams, you’ll take opportunities from initial discussion through to commercial close.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively developing new business across UK manufacturing sectors


  • Prospecting through direct outreach, networking and industry events


  • Visiting new customer sites to understand requirements and challenges


  • Leading technical and commercial discussions with engineering support


  • Producing quotations and proposals from concept to order


  • Managing pipeline, activity and forecasts via CRM


    About You

    You’ll be a commercially driven Sales Engineer who thrives on winning new business and opening new accounts. You are career-focused, target-oriented and results-driven, with the resilience and motivation needed to succeed in a hunter-style role.

    Essential
    • Experience in technical or engineering-led sales


    • Proven new business success in manufacturing or industrial markets


    • Comfortable discussing drawings or engineered solutions


    • Strong commercial and negotiation skills


    • Willingness to travel UK-wide


    • Full UK driving licence


      Desirable
      • Engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship


      • Exposure to jigging, fixturing, tooling or precision engineering


      • Basic CAD familiarity (e.g. SolidWorks)


      • Experience selling into quality-driven environments
