Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Therapy team as a band 7 Team Lead Occupational Therapist. Joining an interdisciplinary team working across a range of specialties.

The post holder will support the day to day management of the medical therapy team.

This post holder will have their own caseload of complex medical inpatients working in specialty areas including infectious diseases, HIV, respiratory medicine, and cardiology. This can include complex neurological symptoms, a range of respiratory conditions, HIV and infectious diseases, cancers and palliative care. The clinical aspect of the role is to provide expert input to improve patient outcomes, facilitate discharge planning. The leadership element to the role is to provide support and day to day leadership to the medicine therapy team including OTs, Physios and therapy assistants, providing clinical supervision and line management to some staff members.

The post holder will receive regular supervision and peer support as well as have opportunities for study, leadership and training. This will include in service training, specific OT training and OT SIM.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and experienced Occupational Therapist who has significant experience of working with people with a variety of medical conditions, including experience with neurology. Applicants must demonstrate a broad knowledge of treatment strategies, have excellent and advanced communication skills and demonstrate a flexible and positive approach.
