Neway International are seeking a Team Manager – MASH / Referral & Assessment / Child Protection / Family Protection (TM1) to join our client based with the London Borough of Bexley.
Location: Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA6 7AT
Hours: 36 per week
Rate:
PAYE: £32.84 per hour
Limited/Umbrella: £44.77 per hour
Work Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days remote and 3 days in the office

The service is committed to strong multi‑agency working, timely decision‑making, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and families across the borough.
The Role
The Team Manager will provide operational leadership and oversight across MASH, R&A, CP, and Family Protection pathways. You will manage a team of Social Workers, oversee complex casework, ensure statutory compliance, and drive high‑quality safeguarding practice. This role requires a confident, experienced leader capable of working at pace, supporting staff, and ensuring robust decision‑making in a demanding frontline environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Social Workers across MASH/R&A/CP/FP services.
Oversee complex and high‑risk cases, ensuring timely progression and effective safeguarding practice.
Provide professional supervision, guidance, and performance management.
Ensure high‑quality assessments, decision‑making, and care planning.
Support multi‑agency collaboration and information‑sharing.
Quality‑assure reports, assessments, and case records.
Ensure compliance with statutory duties, local policies, and national safeguarding standards.
Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England.
Significant experience in frontline safeguarding across MASH, R&A, CP, or Family Protection.
Proven leadership or management experience within Children’s Social Care.
Strong analytical, decision‑making, and risk‑management skills.
Excellent communication and the ability to support, motivate, and develop staff.
Confident working in a fast‑paced, multi‑agency environment.
