Summary

Neway International are seeking a Carelink Mobile Officer (Day Shifts) (BR6) to join our client based with Bromley Council.

Location: Churchill Court, 2 Westmoreland Road, Bromley, Kent, BR1 1AS
Hours: 35 per week
Rate:

PAYE: £13.91 per hour

Limited/Umbrella: £18.00 per hour
Work Pattern: Rota-based — 4–5 shifts over 7 days, including weekends. Shifts are 7 hours between 07:00 and 21:00. No remote working.

Bromley Council’s Adult Services directorate delivers essential support to vulnerable adults across the borough. The Carelink service provides rapid-response assistance to residents using community alarm systems, ensuring safety, reassurance, and timely intervention. The team operates in a fast-paced, community-focused environment where professionalism, empathy, and quick decision-making are vital.

The Role
The Carelink Mobile Officer will provide an efficient, safe, and responsive service to users of the Community Alarm system. Working both independently and in pairs, you will respond to emergency calls, carry out welfare checks, assist with personal care where required, and ensure customers receive timely and appropriate support.

This role is entirely community-based, requiring flexibility, confidence, and the ability to work calmly in emergency situations. You will also install alarm units, complete risk assessments, maintain accurate records, and liaise with a range of professionals and services.

Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly to emergency alarm activations, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.

Provide personal care in emergencies or when scheduled care services fail to attend.

Ensure customer homes are secure and contact next of kin when required.

Visit prospective customers to assess suitability for alarm installation and complete detailed biographies.

Carry out environmental risk assessments for all new referrals.

Install, demonstrate, and test alarm units, ensuring correct documentation and secure handling of keys.

Make routine visits to check alarm equipment and update customer information.

Maintain accurate records and notify the Control Centre of any changes to customer details.

Liaise with care agencies, emergency services, GPs, district nurses, and other professionals.

Provide support in emergency situations at the request of the Emergency Duty Social Worker.

Promote the Carelink service and assist with community information sessions.

Prepare handover information for incoming mobile officers.

Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings.

Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and report any faults or repairs.

Adhere to the General Social Care Council code of conduct and service policies.

Candidate Requirements
Previous moving and handling experience.

Experience working in Adult Social Care or the wider care sector.

Some knowledge of Care in the Community legislation.

Must be a driver — full UK driving licence required (non-negotiable).

Comfortable working to a rota including weekends.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills and a calm approach in emergencies.

Ability to empathise with elderly and vulnerable adults.

Willingness to undertake relevant training.

Home location must allow quick access to the Civic Centre.

DBS required.
