Summary

The Vascular Anomalies Radiology Service delivers a specialised regional diagnostic and treatment service for patients with vascular anomalies. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), you will be a core member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), responsible for the expert management of a defined patient caseload across the full care pathway. The role involves coordinating and delivering specialist nursing care from pre-procedure assessment and preparation through to post-procedure review and ongoing follow-up. You will provide expert clinical advice and support to patients with vascular anomalies, acting as a key point of contact for patients, carers, and colleagues. A key aspect of the role is the provision of post-procedure and long-term follow-up via telephone and video clinics, ensuring continuity of care and early identification of issues. You will deliver clear education and emotional support, communicating complex and sensitive information to enable patients and carers to actively participate in care decisions. Working closely with consultant teams, the patient flow co-ordinator, and the wider MDT, you will contribute to service efficiency, quality improvement, and effective resource use. You will also play an active role in the ongoing development of the specialist service. The post holder reports to the Senior CNS for clinical supervision and service development, and to the Radiology Theatres Senior Nurses in Charge for procedural and operational management
