Registration Officer (Ceremonies) – Service Excellence for Life’s Most Meaningful Days.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Ceremonies Team, where you will play a key role in delivering personalised, meaningful, and memorable experiences for couples and families across Wiltshire.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, values attention to detail, and is comfortable working flexible hours, including regular weekend work. You will be part of a professional and supportive team, delivering high-quality ceremonies that mark some of life’s most important moments.

As a Registration Officer (Ceremonies), you will conduct and register marriages and civil partnerships and deliver Welcoming (Baby Naming) ceremonies. These ceremonies take place in our ceremony rooms and at licensed approved venues across Wiltshire, where you will work closely with couples and their guests to ensure each ceremony is delivered with warmth, professionalism, and care.

You will work as part of a supportive team and, following full training, will be expected to maintain high standards of accuracy, professionalism, and detailed registration practice.

If you are passionate about working with people and would enjoy contributing to life’s most special moments, we would love to hear from you.

Why us?

Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. That’s why we focus on getting the things that matter to our people right.

While we welcome applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship, we are not able to issue a defined certificate of sponsorship due to limitations in our sponsorship capacity.

We understand that AI tools can support you in preparing job applications. However, we value authenticity and would encourage you to ensure your submission genuinely reflects your own experiences, skills, and motivations.

Please download and read the role description and person specification carefully before you apply as well as Our Identity.

Our Identity is a framework which sets out how we are all expected to lead, work and act to deliver our services. We will not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment of any kind. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect which is underpinned by our vision and Our Identity framework.
