Summary
Description
I am a 29 year old young man with Autism and learning disabilities living in the Seven Sisters area of Neath. I enjoy going out in my local community on the bus, swimming, bike ability and walking. I also enjoy bowling, trampolining and being active. I have limited communication and can get anxious in new social situations so need to be supported on a 1:1 basis at all times, at times I may need 2:1 when I am on longer day trips. I also need some support in the house with daily living tasks.
Purpose
Personal Care; assisting me with all aspects of personal care at home and while out and about.
Preparing meals; Planning and preparing healthy and tasty meals that I will enjoy.
Taking me out; planning and preparing activities that I will enjoy and ensure that I am a community presence.
Working within a small team and working together to meet my outcomes and promote my independence.
Light domestic chores; putting washing on, tidying up after activities
Any other reasonable duties
Person Type
Will need to be caring, kind, patient, fit and active with a good sense of humour.
Will need to have previous experience of caring for young people on the autistic spectrum/learning disabilities.
Be willing to work with me within a small team and build up a good relationship with me, and those that you work with.
Hours
36 hours per week or 2 x part time roles available
36 Hour PA hours to be worked through the week INC Weekends to be discussed at interview.
Hours are worked on a rota and are agreed in advance.
Additional cover hours in the week will be offered from time to time.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
