We're working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Blackpool that is looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant for the new academic year. Your new role
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with students who require additional support to access the curriculum and succeed in a mainstream setting. You'll be a key part of the school's SEN team, helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of special educational needs
- Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
- Adapt classroom materials and activities to meet individual needs
- Support students' emotional and social development
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in schools or alternative settings)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for inclusive education
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential
