Monday to Friday Working hours

£17.00 per hour (£35,300 per year)

We are seeking an experienced Manual Precision Engineer (Miller & Turner) to join our clients engineering team. This role involves producing high-precision components using manual milling and turning machines, working from technical drawings, and maintaining quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Miller and Turner who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and enjoys hands-on work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual milling and turning machines to manufacture precision components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Set up machines, select tooling, and measure components accurately
  • Work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometres, gauges)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Work with other engineers and production teams to achieve production targets

Required Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role the candidate will be resident in the UK with right to work documentation in place as our client does not offer sponsorship and will have the following experience.

  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience in engineering/machining
  • Engineering or machining-related qualifications (preferred but not essential)
  • Proven experience as a Manual Miller and Turner with strong knowledge of manual machining techniques
  • Ability to work confidently in technical engineering
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Competent with measuring and inspection equipment
  • Understanding of workshop health & safety practices Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence would be ideal as you may have to visit customers from time to time.
