The Priory Learning Trust (Somerset Business Award winner for Employer of the Year 2023) is looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to work at our Pawlett Primary School Academy.
The role will be 3 hours a day ( afternoons), throughout the week, providing support and interventions to our SEN pupils.

This is a non-teaching, role focused on supporting pupils with SEN requirements in the classroom. This will involve building strong supportive relationships with the pupils, working closely with the class teacher, assisting in planning and adapting learning activities. We are a small, friendly village school dedicated to improving outcomes for all children and providing first-class pastoral and educational support for all, including those that find traditional teaching environments more challenging.
As part of this role, you will;Support children in their personal development and progress through school by providing encouragement, rewards, advice and guidance, induction.
Work with the class teacher to identify and deliver targeted support for our SEN pupils.
Help develop positive learning behaviours, working collaboratively with the whole school team.
Develop partnerships with parents / carers to increase involvement in their child's progress.
What you need to succeed; Experience of working within children in an educational setting is essential.
Ability to adhere to working procedures and policies within the school environment.
Excellent and effective communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and good ICT skills.
Patient, flexible and adaptable, meticulous and conscientious.
Some knowledge of Child Protection procedures and SEND Code of Practice.
