Summary

Job Introduction

Join our cardfactory Finance team as an Inventory Accountant and make a real impact from day one. Supporting our Finance Manager, you\'ll play an active role in inventory reporting, stock take planning, reconciliations, and valuation of £50m+ of inventory. This role offers hybrid working from our Junction 41 Wakefield office (2–3 days per week), plus free parking.

You’ll play a key part in meeting external audit requirements, providing accurate insights to internal teams, and driving improvements across our systems and inventory processes. We’re looking for a qualified accountant (or part qualified, close to completion) with strong relevant experience, excellent analytical skills, and the confidence to work independently while supporting others.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning monthly inventory reconciliations and supporting both interim, seasonal and year‑end stocktakes
  • Complete monthly GRIR balance sheet reconciliations and liaise with purchase ledger to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices for Stock, Freight and Duty
  • Closely monitor Moving Average Prices (MAP) and investigate any discrepancies outside of agreed tolerances
  • Calculating monthly inventory provisions and ensuring that Group policy is applied
  • Contributing to the reporting outputs of the team whilst identifying balance sheet risks and opportunities
  • Supporting the upskilling and development of Inventory Assistants
  • Ensure all external audit requirements are met
  • Delivering ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider finance leadership

What you’ll bring

  • A professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW) or part qualified, close to completion
  • A strong level of experience in a relevant role
  • Strong data and ERP experience with excellent Excel capability
  • Great stakeholder management skills and high attention to detail
  • Confidence to manage competing priorities with a proactive, hands‑on mindset
