We’re looking for enthusiastic, committed and hardworking individuals who are eager to develop their skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment. If you work well under pressure, enjoy learning, and are passionate about delivering excellent care, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The successful candidate will provide the highest standard of evidence-based, patient-centered care. You will also have a genuine passion for education, training and the development of staff, recognising the positive impact this has on the children and families we care for.
Most importantly, you will share our PRIDE values and our ongoing drive for improvement.
Our busy Children’s Emergency Departments operate across two sites — Queen’s Hospital in Romford and King George Hospital in Goodmayes — providing a wide range of pediatric and surgical services to our local communities. As some of the busiest Children’s EDs in the country, we are continuing to grow our team so we can offer the best service possible.
As part of our expanding CED team, you’ll have opportunities to build your knowledge, update your clinical skills, and be supported by Matrons, Practice Development Nurses and the wider MDT.
We know motivated, supported staff deliver the best patient experience, so we’re committed to making our hospitals a great place to work. Our values — Passion, Responsibility, Innovation, Drive and Empowerment — sit at the heart of everything we do.

We’re an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we’re proud of and our patients are happy with.

They are benefitting from a newelectronic patient record (we were the last acute trust in London to introduce one) and our maternity services have beenrated good by the Care Quality Commission.

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 346,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need totransform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care.

We’re proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We’re also part of theNorth East London Cancer Alliance.

We run aWomen’s Health Hub in Ilford; anAgeing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) atBarking Community Hospital and atSt George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
