Summary

Prime Responsibilities: This role combines technical expertise, user support, and system management to provide high quality, comprehensive day to day administration to the ICE Desktop Order Communications system. Acts as the single point of contact for enquiries from end users. Maintains the user accounts on the system and provision of training to end users when required. Assists in the continued development of the Order Communications solution provided to end users To maintain user accounts and access rights to the ICE Desktop Order Communications system. To maintain test and location library within ICE Desktop to ensure parity with the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) To manage merge maintenance of records on the ICE Desktop solution Deliver ICE Desktop system training and Junior doctor induction sessions or to individual users when required Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the use of the ICE Desktop solution in line with the standards of the service Plan and deploy the use of the ICE Desktop solution across all pathology service users Continually development and enhance the ICE suite of modules The post holder will be involved in the testing of software release patches in a test environment to check for suitability prior to application to live systems and their deployment Primary contact for telephone and general enquiries relating to the ICE Desktop solution There is a requirement of this post to work offsite occasionally at GP surgeries or other Trusts. This also includes periods of work relating to training or system testing where travel to other parts of the UK may be necessary Communication Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be effective in the role. This will include communicating with all NHS staff within the Trust at all levels and also across multi-agency boundaries. Provide and receive information from health systems which may be complex and will be required to discuss systems issues with suppliers or system users, both internal users and from other organisations. They will be required to discuss and negotiate user requirements for amendments and enhancements to information systems, which may be both complex and sensitive in nature. Act as the principle support contact for the ICE Desktop solution and assist system users in resolving problems, either over the telephone or by direct contact, and includes production/maintenance of user guide documentation. Ability to communicate complex information about the ICE Desktop solution, needs persuasive negotiation skills and be able to convey right level of message to relevant parties. Plan and deliver ICE training programme as part of junior doctors induction and one-2-one staff training when required. There is a requirement to present and deliver training workshops at primary care time out events, GP surgeries and other ICE user locations. Occasional requirement to deliver ICE Desktop related presentations at the ICE User Group Provide progress updates as and when required.
