JOB OVERVIEW

As Senior Surveyor you will deliver a range of survey and site engineering works across Heathrow Airport. The role includes establishing grid lines and datums, carrying out complex traversing and levelling, laser scanning for designers and PAS128 utility mapping to support service protection.

Most work takes place during night shifts (8 pm to 4 am, Monday to Thursday) with overtime opportunities available at weekends. You’ll be working across both airside and landside areas on a variety of ongoing projects, currently focused around Terminal 4.

You’ll also need to obtain a Heathrow Security Pass, which involves providing a 5-year work and address history and completing a DBS check.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for undertaking topographical surveys
Total station and GPS/GNSS observations
Working with the latest technology – Stream Up
Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties that may arise
Mentor and train less experienced team members as and when required
Management and maintenance of survey equipment
Production of CAD Drawings from Survey Data
Post Processing of GPR Data in GREDHD and IQ Maps
Assistance in the overall development of the survey department
Adherence to Company manuals and processes
Ensure QA/QC Compliance

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Proven experience in conducting land, topographic, and boundary surveys.
Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, and laser scanners.
Experience with CAD software and data processing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS)
Strong understanding of surveying principles, mapping techniques, and geospatial data.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and legal documents related to land boundaries.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
Good time management skills.
Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and local authorities.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Problem-solving mindset and adaptability.
