Summary


Our Bank administrator assistants will provide cover where required within offices and departments throughout the NCH&C NHS Trust. They will work as a member of a team assisting in the effective and smooth running of the office by providing administrative assistance to staff. The assistants will maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as maintain effective working relationships. It is recognised that the admin assistant will be operating within a rapidly changing environment and therefore a high degree of flexibility is required in order to meet the needs of the Organisation.

We are currently seeking Band 2 Administrators to work within our organisation to give invaluable support during this time to our Teams in a variety of settings in Norfolk

For all assignments you will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, have experience in office based systems and possess excellent communication skills. We require individuals who are forward thinking, well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility. Training will be given on any specific workplace systems (i.e. SystmOne).

With effect from the 1stApril 2026 Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust will be merging with Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust to form a new organisation. The new Trust will provide a wide range of community health and social care services to over 4 million people, with a budget of circa £380 million and a workforce of over 7,000 people.

General Responsibilities
• To assist and maintain various office systems with adaptation towards efficiency where required. This includes filing systems, both manual and computerised, ensuring that information is recorded and stored appropriately and that disused files are archived on a regular basis.
• To ensure all typing is completed promptly and efficiently.
• To receive and respond to incoming telephone calls, acting as a first point of contact for most callers, including staff and people from a wide range of organisations, determining their requirements and taking appropriate action under the supervision of the Senior Administrator to the work area.
• To take, respond to and record accurately all telephone calls and emails, initiating action as appropriate, relaying messages accurately, ensuring that all calls receive prompt attention and complete confidentiality in an efficient and courteous way.
• To develop and maintain good and effective working relationships with a wide range of people both within the Trust and externally in order to ensure that communication and liaison between the departments are effective and information is given and received in a timely manner.
• To use computer networks effectively and on a daily basis.
• To undertake general admin duties as required by the Directorate, i.e. photocopying, filing scanning, use of fax machines etc
• To maintain adequate stocks of stationery for the Team.
• To perform tasks that require frequent periods of prolonged concentration, involving use of computers, planning and preparing documents.
• Any other duties which may be requested by the line manager in order to facilitate the smooth running of the service.

Generally admin support assignments are flexible with times usually between 8am-5pm Monday – Friday, however other shifts may be required to cover urgent requirements.
