Summary

This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based People Services Team.

This role is pro rata so the salary you will be receiving is £23,551.21 per annum. Please note there is a requirement to be on site at 6 AM.

Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific place (i.e. the College).

This role is classed as working within Regulated Activity. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. By applying for this position, you agree to an Enhanced DBS check in line with DBS regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

● To clean all areas as directed to cleaning specification and secure all areas after completion of
work tasks.
● Be competent in the use of electrical equipment, vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing
machines etc.
● To clean hard floors, carpets, walls, glass, light fittings etc.
● To remove bodily fluids spillages as required.
● Wear appropriate supplied uniform PPE etc.
● Ensure personal housekeeping of cleaning equipment is keep and maintained to a high standard including collecting and emptying bins.
● Reporting any maintenance issues and carrying out replenishment of consumables.
● Liaise with the line manager on a regular basis regarding supplies and consumables and any cleaning issues.
● Undertake training on a regular basis, related to Housekeeping issues, to Include Health and Safety, Coshh, Risk Assessments, Drugs Awareness etc.
Security of premises and its contents, including opening up and locking up, operation of fire and intruder alarms.
● Carry out regular fire bell checks, shower run offs, emergency light checks and other routine premises tasks as requested
● Responding to radio calls promptly, using appropriate radio etiquette and ensuring continuity of response and cover throughout the shift.
● Portering duties including movement of furniture, arranging rooms for examinations, meetings, events etc. movement of plant, equipment and materials as required utilising the correct equipment and manual handling techniques.
● Clearing of snow / ice in winter and the spreading of salt / sand on roadways and paths

Essential Attainments:

● Experience of cleaning/domestic work.
● Experience of working to Health and Safety standards and legislation.
● Qualified First Aider or willingness to undertake qualification.

● Ability to work as a part of a team.
● To be able to use own initiative and manage your area of work.
● To follow both written and verbal instructions.
● Flexible - The post holder will be required to undertake other duties as directed.
