Summary
Work with York Limited are looking for an Adult ESOL Tutor. This role is based in West Offices and other City centre venues. The position is part time, with the potential to work up to 6 hours a week Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 AM – 2 PM, The duration of the assignment is Expected to last until the end of June/beginning of July.
Hourly rate of pay is £16.92 to £26.82.
You will be required to:
Plan lessons that meet the needs of ESOL learners who are already living and working in the area, as well as an ability to integrate and support a growing number of refugees who come to us with very complex life experiences and language needs.
Deliver engaging and relevant courses to our diverse range of learners for both accredited and non-accredited provision from Pre Entry up to Level Two ESOL Skills for Life, in multiple city centre venues.
Measure learner progress through both formative and summative assessments, both internally and externally set.
Qualification and Skills Required for the post:
You must have a recognised teaching qualification, preferably a CELTA or CertTESOL or equivalent, and, as well as a degree in a related field and Maths GCSE or equivalent at a Grade C/ Grade 4 or above.
Strong interpersonal qualities are essential to this post as well as excellent recording and administration skills to meet specific funding, exam board, and programme requirements.
Experience of community education is preferred, as well as an understanding of the challenges and barriers to those learners who are new to literacy and educational settings.
