Summary
Your new company
Hays are consistently approached by primary schools across Wigan and surrounding areas looking for Y5 and Y6 teachers to provide temporary cover. With the cover being on a temporary basis, these schools are looking for experienced teachers who can come in and hit the ground running with this class in order to prepare them for their SATs. In most cases, you will have the support of a TA within the classroom, and you must be able to accommodate any SEN needs.
Your new role
In this role, you will be taking on the full responsibilities of the class teacher and this will include planning and delivering lessons with particular focus on Maths, English and Science in order to help prepare students for their SATs. You may be required to mark work and track pupil progress, providing extra support where needed to pupils who may be struggling throughout the day. This school is looking for a confident teacher who can come in and make a lasting impact on this class.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, hold qualified teacher status (QTS) gained in the UK. You should be enthusiastic, approachable and be able to hit the ground running. Good knowledge of KS2 curriculum is preferred.
