Are you passionate about equine education and committed to inspiring the next generation of industry professionals? Plumpton College is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Lecturer in Equine to join our ambitious and supportive team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment. You will coordinate, lead and deliver a blend of theory and practical units, supporting students to maximise their potential and progress into further study or employment.

About the role
Reporting to the Curriculum Manager, you will:

Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across a range of equine theory and practical units, including riding, coaching, business, yard management and behaviour.

Inspire and motivate learners with differing abilities, ensuring a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Act as a personal tutor, providing guidance, monitoring progress and supporting students’ personal, academic and employability development.

Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement activity and external awarding organisation processes.

Work collaboratively within a high-performing team to continuously enhance the student experience.

About you
You will be highly organised, student-focused and bring recent, relevant industry experience. You will ideally hold a degree or professional qualification, with a BHS Stage 3 or 4 Instructor qualification, and either hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification. You will have:

Strong experience in riding instruction and coaching across a wide range of abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and supportive approach.

A clear understanding of student welfare, safeguarding and high standards of health and safety when working with horses.

Confidence in using digital tools, including Microsoft Teams, to enhance teaching and learning.
