Summary
Hours of Work:
Tuesday to Friday: 05:00 – 13:00
Saturday: 05:00 – 12:30
Main Purpose of the Role
To undertake mechanical street cleansing duties to help maintain a clean, safe, and attractive city environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operate a mechanical sweeper vehicle safely and efficiently within assigned areas
Remove litter and debris from streets and public areas
Empty litter bins as required
Carry out basic inspections of equipment and report any defects or maintenance issues
Identify and report issues affecting the public realm, including fly-tipping, damaged street furniture, graffiti, and abandoned vehicles
Complete basic records such as timesheets and daily work sheets
Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues, and the public
Work flexibly to meet service demands
Requirements
Full, clean, manual UK driving licence with C1 classification
Experience driving large vehicles preferred
Ability to work early morning shifts
Good awareness of health and safety procedures
