Location: Peterborough / Hybrid working
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

Join a forward-thinking homebuilder's expanding timber-frame division focused on sustainable, high-quality off-site manufactured timber-framed homes. You'll play a key role in delivering accurate, buildable timber frame designs that drive both manufacturing and site installation teams.

As a Timber Frame Designer, your work will be central to the production process - transforming architectural and structural inputs into detailed design outputs that support efficient timber frame manufacture and on-site construction.

The Role

• Produce precise timber frame design drawings and construction information for manufacturing and site teams.
• Interpret architectural and engineering information to create accurate panel, joist and roof truss designs.
• Supply clear design data to planning and scheduling teams to support efficient production programmes.
• Ensure designs align with technical standards, building regulations and warranty requirements (e.g., NHBC).
• Collaborate closely with internal teams - engineering, production, site management - to resolve technical queries and maintain momentum.
• Produce schedules, cutting lists, and detailed design outputs to support manufacturing and delivery.

About You

• Proven experience in timber frame detailing and design, ideally within residential or off-site construction.
• Proficiency with Autodesk platforms (Revit, AutoCAD) or equivalent design software.
• Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and structural principles relevant to timber frame systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines in a dynamic production environment.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.

Why Join

• Be at the heart of a growing timber frame operation supporting modern, sustainable housing solutions.
• Work with advanced design tools and industry-leading design standards.
• Opportunities for career growth, professional development, and a supportive work culture.
• Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
