Summary
We’re seeking a design-led Senior Architect with strong technical expertise to lead the day-to-day delivery of medium to large-scale residential and mixed-use projects. The role will focus predominantly on international housing projects initially in Sydney and potentially Brisbane with scope to expand to other Australian regions and locations. You will work closely with a Project Leader and coordinate regularly with HTA’s Sydney studio, clients and collaborators in very different time zones, so a flexible approach to working hours is essential. Over the longer term the role may include occasional international travel (e.g., Australia project visits; manufacturing plants in China, Malaysia or South Korea), though not initially.
The successful candidate will have/be:
•ARB registered; typically 5–10+ years post-Part 3 on UK residential/mixed-use projects across RIBA stages. International experience (especially Australia) is an advantage.
•Excellent design capability with strong technical knowledge and detailing; deep understanding of UK & Australia regulations/standards and typical delivery routes.
•Strong Revit and BIM coordination and documentation skills; proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite/Affinity; familiarity with ISO 19650 desirable.
•Experience of MMC is advantageous; exposure to volumetric modular is a plus (not essential). Passion for housing and interest in innovative forms of construction is a considerable benefit.
•A proven track record delivering complex projects and leading teams; strong resource planning and financial management.
•Client-focused and calm under pressure; strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills; able to create and deliver compelling presentations to clients and large stakeholder groups.
•Comfortable coordinating across time zones and flexing working hours; inclusive leadership and mentoring experience.
