We have a brand new role as a Yard Shift Supervisor to lead our warehouse and backyard operations, ensuring smooth daily operations, compliance, and team performance across the business.
What the role involves:
As Yard Shift Supervisor, you will:
• Lead and develop your team: Supervise warehouse and backyard staff, both onsite and offsite, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Provide coaching, training, and motivation, particularly during peak periods such as harvest
• Plan daily operations: Allocate forklift and warehouse tasks, prepare operational briefings, and prioritise workloads to ensure smooth flow of raw materials
• Manage logistics and product flow: Coordinate deliveries, decanting, conditioning, and storage to support continuous product flow for grading and production. Liaise with hauliers, contractors, and external operators to maintain schedules and solve operational challenges
• Ensure compliance and quality: Support BRC and food safety compliance, maintain accurate stock records, oversee labelling, and monitor all operational processes
• Operate and manage equipment: Use forklifts safely, monitor maintenance, and ensure all equipment is correctly maintained. Oversee operations such as fan/trap management, blowing, debagging, and storage movements.
• Support peak and harvest periods: Organise teams, manage deliveries, ensure timely decanting, conditioning, and refrigeration of stores, and maintain efficiency under high-pressure conditions
• Communicate across teams: Act as the key point of contact between shifts, departments, and management, ensuring clear handovers and collaborative working culture
Person Specification:
• Demonstrated leadership experience in warehouse, production, or agricultural operations
• Hands-on forklift experience with a valid licence
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
