About you:

If so we’re looking for positive, dynamic, and results-focused individuals who are passionate about health and safety.



About the role:

We are looking to appoint two experienced Health and Safety Officers to join our busy team supporting the Council’s operational services. While the roles are based in Exeter, you will be required to travel to sites across the wider area.

In this role, you will lead on audits, and review and implement a range of health and safety policies and guidance. You will have designated areas of specialism and will provide clear, informed advice by interpreting relevant legislation and best practice. You will also design and deliver toolbox talks and in house training for frontline staff.

Applicants must hold, or be working towards, the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), with strong post qualification experience. A thorough understanding of current health and safety legislation and experience undertaking detailed accident investigations are essential. You should be an excellent communicator, able to engage confidently with staff at all levels, including senior managers.

Experience of managing premises related health and safety issues—such as asbestos and legionella—across multi site organisations is desirable, as is a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and specialist health and safety software.

These roles form a a dedicated specialist team focusing upon operational health and safety matters in wider busy Environmental Health Service.
