Summary
England Golf is seeking an experienced and insightful Selector to join the Women’s and Girls’ Selection Committee, helping shape the future of England’s elite amateur teams.Appointments are initially for two years, with the opportunity to progress to a four-year term.Purpose:You will play a central role in selecting players for England Women’s and Girl’s squads and teams, applying the England Golf Selection Policy with fairness, consistency and transparency. Balancing current performance with long-term potential, you’ll work closely with the Performance Manager, coaches and fellow selectors to make informed, accountable decisions at the highest level of the amateur game.Key Responsibilities:Select squads and teams for nominated championships using performance data, rankings and observed potentialAttend agreed competitions and selection meetingsCommunicate selection criteria clearly to players and stakeholdersProvide constructive feedback, particularly around non-selectionHelp foster a strong, inclusive performance culture across squadsApply the selection policy consistently and without biasSkills and Knowledge:Strong knowledge of elite amateur golfSound judgement, emotional intelligence and confidence in decision-makingAbility to justify selections clearly and professionallyExcellent communication skills with players, coaches and parentsCommitment to attending required meetings and eventsAn inclusive mindset that values diversity and equal opportunityEngland Golf Safeguarding and Protecting Children RequirementsThis role has been identified as involving access to adults at risk and/or children and, in line with England Golf policy, persons undertaking this role will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service Disclosure Check and must also have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course (SPC) or be willing to undertake one.How to applyYou can download the full role description to view the essential experience and knowledge information from our website (https://www.englandgolf.org/about-us/jobs/) and apply using the online application form (No CV's please).Closing date for applications is Wednesday 18th February 2026Interviews by Microsoft Teams video call will take place on Wednesday 25th February 2026
