About the role:
The role involves delivering well planned, differentiated English lessons, contributing to assessment for learning, supporting curriculum development, and maintaining high expectations for all students. Responsibilities include monitoring progress, managing resources effectively, participating in faculty meetings, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring positive learning environments. The role also includes supporting whole school policies, liaising with parents and external agencies, and contributing to wider school life.

We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
- Teach high quality, engaging and well‑planned English lessons
- Develop effective practice under the direction of the Head of Department
- Use data to support student progress and achievement
- Attend faculty meetings and contribute to curriculum development
- Maintain accurate records including attendance, classwork and homework
- Support school monitoring and evaluation processes
- Promote positive student engagement and high aspirations
- Undertake form tutor responsibilities when required

Requirements -
The ideal candidate would have:
- Strong subject knowledge in English language and literature
- Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons across KS3-KS4 (and ideally KS5)
- Understanding of assessment for learning and effective feedback
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Ability to work collaboratively within a faculty team
- High expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement
