Cover Supervisor - Andover (with a preference for English specialists)
Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of mainstream and SEN secondary schools in the Andover area. While you will be expected to cover a range of subjects, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a strong interest or background in English, as schools frequently request support in this department.
This is an excellent opportunity for:
· English graduates or those passionate about the subject who want meaningful classroom experience
· Individuals considering a future career in teaching or education
· Candidates with previous experience supporting young people, mentoring, tutoring, youth work, or school environments
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee lessons and deliver pre-prepared content to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students when the usual teacher is absent. The role focuses on behaviour management, classroom engagement, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Contract Details:
· Location: Andover, Hampshire
· Position: Cover Supervisor
· Type of work: Supervising and delivering pre-set lessons for Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4
· Start date: ASAP
· Contract type: Temporary
· Duration: Ongoing
· Full time/Part time: Full time or ad-hoc
· Pay rate: GBP100 to GBP125 per day
· Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
· A degree is desirable (English or humanities strongly welcomed, but all subjects considered)
· Minimum one years experience working with young people
· Safeguarding training completed within the last 12 months (we can provide this if needed)
Eligibility:
· Right to work in the UK
· Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
· Ability to supply two professional references relating to work with children
