Summary
We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Baker to join our team at Whipsnade Zoo. This is a hands-on role where you will take pride in preparing fresh, high-quality home bakes to delight our visitors. As part of our dedicated catering team, you will play a key role in producing a range of delicious baked goods for sale across the site.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of high-quality products, including pastries, cakes, and speciality items.
- Ensure all baked goods are consistently fresh, visually appealing, and meet company standards.
- Accurately follow recipes, portioning, and baking schedules to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Manage ingredient stocks, monitor usage, and minimise waste.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised baking environment in line with health & safety and food hygiene standards.
- Assist with menu development by creating new baked items and seasonal offerings.
- Keep accurate records of production, inventory, and any special dietary requirements.
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a baker in a café, bakery, or catering environment.
- Passionate about baking and producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, visitor-focused environment.
- Awareness of food safety, hygiene standards, and allergen management.
- Enthusiastic about learning and developing new baking techniques.
