The Role

If you have a calm, positive approach and previous special needs experience, we would love to hear from you!

We are seeking to appoint a SEND teaching assistant to support our SEND children as follows:

• Support individual children and small groups
• Lead interventions such as speech and language, lego therapy, zones of regulation, phonics and maths
• Be proactive and flexible in supporting children’s needs
• Work closely with the SENCO to deliver a personalised programme of support to meet targets
• Provide close supervision at playtimes and lunchtimes
• Support and maintain positive links between home and school by making parents feel welcome
• Work collaboratively with external agencies to draw upon skills, knowledge and recommendations to help support the child
• Support children’s personal care and needs, including communication, by following the Education Health Care Plan, and undergoing any relevant training
• The successful applicant will be required to work to meet the requirements set out in the pupils Education Health Care Plan (EHCP)

• Demonstrate a high level of inclusivity within working practice and actively seek to remove barriers to
learning.

Person Specification:

You will need:
• GCSE or equivalent level in English and Maths to Grade 4/Grade C
• Level 3 TA qualification, or equivalent
• Experience of working with special needs children
• Experience of planning and delivering learning activities

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children; therefore, the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS.
