About the Role

Our client, a leading main contractor based in Bristol, specialising in hotel fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK, is seeking an experienced and driven Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the commercial delivery of multiple hotel fit-out and refurbishment projects, ensuring each project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects in the hospitality sector, where you will be a key player in managing costs, subcontractors, suppliers, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Preparation & Cost Planning

Prepare tenders, cost plans, and commercial submissions for projects, ensuring all costs are considered and accurately estimated from the outset.

Subcontractor & Supplier Management

Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes, raising orders and ensuring clarity on scope, costs, and project timelines.

Cost Control & Variations

Manage project costs throughout the life cycle, including variations and valuations, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and on budget.

Procurement & Negotiation

Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best value, while maintaining the quality and standards required for the project.

Support to Site Teams

Provide cost control and procurement support to site teams, particularly for fast-turnaround refurbishment projects.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Attend progress meetings, report on commercial matters, and ensure strong relationships are maintained with clients and key stakeholders.

Compliance & Health & Safety

Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and health and safety requirements on-site.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background in fit-out, refurbishment, or hospitality/retail projects. Experience in the hotel sector is highly desirable.

Commercial Awareness: Strong ability to manage and control costs, with excellent commercial awareness and understanding of contracts, procurement processes, and cost reporting.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Multitasking: Comfortable working across multiple projects at once, often with tight deadlines and live environments.

Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required, as travel across the UK is expected for site visits.
