Male Personal Assistant Wanted – Football, Music & Good Chat
Are you friendly, reliable, and up for a role that’s genuinely rewarding? We’re looking for a Male Personal Assistant to support a bright, funny and sociable 19‑year‑old young man with bilateral dyskinetic cerebral palsy. He splits his time between mum and dad, and while at mum’s he needs support 6:30am–8:30am to get ready for college (on a rota, not every week). There are also opportunities for evening social support a couple of times a week.
⭐ About Him
He’s sharp, witty, and full of personality. His body doesn’t always cooperate, but his mind certainly does. He loves:
Football (especially Newcastle matches with his dad)
Music
Going to the pub
Meeting up with friends
Having a good laugh and a proper chat
He communicates verbally, and the more time you spend with him, the easier it becomes to understand his speech.
⭐ What You’ll Be Helping With
Morning routine: getting out of bed, showering, dressing, and preparing for college
Personal care (he currently uses pads but can use the toilet/bottle for urinating)
Supporting transfers using hoists
Occasional evening outings to help him socialise and enjoy life
⭐ What We’re Looking For
Male PA preferred
Someone patient, upbeat, and sociable
A driver is preferred
Comfortable using hoists
PEG experience is a bonus (training can be provided)
⭐ Why This Role Matters
You won’t just be helping with daily tasks — you’ll be supporting a young man who wants to live life fully, enjoy his hobbies, and stay connected with friends. If you like football, music, and being part of someone’s world in a meaningful way, this could be a perfect fit.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.
At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
