We are seeking a hands-on Static Fabric Technician to join our onsite team, delivering high-quality fabric maintenance services for our client.
This role requires someone who can confidently carry out a wide range of practical tasks, ensuring the site remains safe, functional, and well-presented.
Job Description
You will be responsible for undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across building fabrics, working to set engineering standards and complying with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
This is a practical role that demands strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn your hand to various tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly and effectively to all building fabric-related issues and help desk requests.
Inspect and repair floor, wall, and ceiling coverings, as well as doors, windows, and associated fixtures.
Carry out painting, decorating, and other semi-skilled tasks as required.
Inspect and repair free-standing and fitted furniture, and clear drainage gully systems.
Support the engineering team with general reactive and proactive maintenance tasks.
Conduct fabric surveys, report findings, and produce material cost lists for minor works.
Coordinate and oversee specialist sub-contractors for PPM schedules and accept completed works.
Maintain tools and test equipment, ensuring they are fit for purpose at all times.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Proven all-round DIY skills with references.
Willingness to undertake varied tasks.
Ideally qualified in painting and decorating (C&G, NVQ) or time-served in a trade such as plumbing or carpentry.
Any trade-based certification is beneficial; training such as IPAF and PASMA can be provided.
Strong commitment to health and safety and quality assurance standards.
