Summary
To assist the Spectrum Community Health (SCH) prison pharmacy team to deliver pharmacy services at HMP Frankland to ensure continuity of supply of medicines and in accordance with the Medicines Act, RPSGB guidance and in line with recommendations outlined in A pharmacy service for prisoners. To contribute to the timely and efficient supply of dispensed medicines to prisoners. To work within locally approved policies and standard operating procedures. To assist the prison pharmacy team in maintaining an efficient procurement and stock control system for pharmaceutical and related supplies in order to minimise waste and maximise cost-effectiveness. To assist the prison pharmacy team in the review of repeat prescribing systems and assisting prison healthcare staff in the implementation of improvements that ensure robust systems are in place. To assist the prison pharmacy team in responding to all major MHRA drug alerts through facilitation of appropriate action within prison healthcare over an appropriate time frame and to support any medication changes that occur as a result. To assist the prison pharmacy team in undertaking clinical audit and sharing the outcomes of the audits, in order to facilitate improvement and changes in practice.
