This senior post offers the opportunity to be a role model for professional practice, lead clinical innovation, deliver autonomous high-quality upper and lower diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including TNE and capsule endoscopy and contribute to service development across our two hospital sites. There is the opportunity to become a BCSP colonoscopist if not already accredited. You will also deliver practitioner led out-patient clinics for specific cohorts of patients.



The successful applicant will be a JAG accredited trainer and will participate in the planning and delivery of formal JAG courses, delivered at SATH and across the Midlands Endoscopy Training Academy. The post holder will work closely with the Trust JAG Training Lead to plan and deliver regular training lists meeting the needs of both clinical and medical SaTH endoscopy trainees, whilst also acting as a JAG assessor. They will also be an integral member of the team delivering immersion training.



There is an expectation that the post holder will have a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent and be an Independent Prescriber who can support junior members of the team in their academic and prescribing development. They will work closely with the endoscopy consultant lead and ensure departmental JAG accreditation is maintained.
• To deliver upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy at an advanced level of clinical practice within the field of endoscopy and gastroenterology whilst playing an integral role in assisting in the operational / strategic development of the service.
• To act as a role model for professional practice, exercising accountability and providing leadership within the Clinical Endoscopist Team and the wider Endoscopy/Gastroenterology service.
• To work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team to play an integral role in assisting in the operation/strategic development of the service, ensuring maintenance of JAG accreditation and meeting national standards regarding cancer care.
• The post holder will be integral to delivering and developing JAG training courses aswell as providing training and assessment of clinical and medical endoscopy trainees.

We have two endoscopy units with a total of nine procedure rooms. The post holder will be expected to work at both Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals. Our endoscopy departments are collaborative, supportive team environments with a focus on providing safe, innovative high quality patient care.
