Residential Care Home Manager Job in Southampton, HampshireWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Care Home Manager to lead a small, friendly residential care home in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Care Home Manager or a Deputy Care Home Manager ready to step up into their first registered manager role.

Key Responsibilities – Care Home Manager (Southampton)

Full operational management of a small residential care home
-
Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding, and care legislation
-
Act as Registered Care Home Manager (or work towards registration if stepping up)
-
Lead, support, and develop the care team
-
Maintain high standards of person-centred care
-
Oversee care plans, audits, risk assessments, and quality assurance
-
Manage recruitment, staffing levels, and rotas
-
Build positive relationships with residents, families, and professionals
-
Prepare for and lead CQC inspections
Essential Requirements

NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – essential
-
Experience as a Care Home Manager, Registered Manager, or Deputy Manager in a residential care setting
-
Deputy Managers stepping up into a Care Home Manager role will be fully considered
-
Strong understanding of CQC standards and compliance
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Right to work in the UK
Desirable Experience

Experience managing a small residential care home

Previous Good or Outstanding CQC ratings

Budget and occupancy management experience

Knowledge of local care services in Southampton or Hampshire
