Residential Care Home Manager Job in Southampton, Hampshire

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Care Home Manager to lead a small, friendly residential care home in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Care Home Manager or a Deputy Care Home Manager ready to step up into their first registered manager role.

Our home provides high-quality, person-centred residential care, and we are looking for a strong, compassionate leader who is committed to achieving excellent standards and positive CQC outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities – Care Home Manager (Southampton)

    • Full operational management of a small residential care home


    • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding, and care legislation


    • Act as Registered Care Home Manager (or work towards registration if stepping up)


    • Lead, support, and develop the care team


    • Maintain high standards of person-centred care


    • Oversee care plans, audits, risk assessments, and quality assurance


    • Manage recruitment, staffing levels, and rotas


    • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and professionals


    • Prepare for and lead CQC inspections


      Essential Requirements

      • NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – essential


      • Experience as a Care Home Manager, Registered Manager, or Deputy Manager in a residential care setting


      • Deputy Managers stepping up into a Care Home Manager role will be fully considered


      • Strong understanding of CQC standards and compliance


      • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills


      • Right to work in the UK


        Desirable Experience

        • Experience managing a small residential care home


        • Previous Good or Outstanding CQC ratings


        • Budget and occupancy management experience


        • Knowledge of local care services in Southampton or Hampshire
