Summary
The post-holder will be required to be a non-resident on-call in rotation with the other SpRs. Office accommodation and secretarial support is provided. The Middle Grades in the department are expected to arrange and cover each others duties and on-call commitments during periods of absence. The post-holder undertakes, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. The main duties and responsibilities of the appointee will be: To work with the orthopaedic surgeons across both Ashford and St. Peters Hospitals to provide an efficient and effective orthopaedic service. To provide inpatients, day case and outpatients care for the patients requiring elective emergency orthopaedic surgery, in accordance with the Trust contractual obligations. To adopt a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and in partnership with other colleagues working in the speciality for the proper function of the department to which he/she is appointed.
