The Discharge Lounge at Epsom Hospital plays a vital role in supporting patient flow and hospital capacity, ensuring patients are safely and efficiently transferred from an inpatient ward when they are fit to be discharged from hospital.

The Healthcare Support Worker plays an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care to patients within the Discharge Lounge. Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses, the Healthcare Support work provides direct patient care, monitors patients during their time within the Discharge Lounge, assists with clinical tasks, and ensures the lounge is clean, safe and well prepared. The role requires excellent communication with the post holder demonstrating the ability to work well within a team.



Working under the supervision of the qualified nursing staff, the Healthcare Support Worker will participate and support members of the wider team in delivering high quality care.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills; It is preferred to have previous experience in the role.

You will be provided a clinical training to learn the role and will have daily supervision by a trained staff to perform safely, confidently and competently the clinical skills required. The Trust are giving opportunities and support for your future career pathway and development.
