Applications are invited for the post of Complex Student Casework Lead working within the Directorate of Student Life at Royal Holloway University of London. The Directorate of Student Life includes a broad range of student facing teams who are core to the student journey: Active Lifestyle & Sport, Chaplaincy, Counselling & Mental Health, Disability & Neurodiversity, Hall Life, International & Money Advice, Student Engagement & Insights and Wellbeing Support & Community

This full-time role will manage multi-disciplinary and complex student casework emerging from involvement of Student Life teams or escalation from other University departments and services. The postholder will also take the lead on managing and operationalising strategic projects or developments including the University Mental Health Charter work. Reporting to the Director of Student Life they will contribute to the work of the Directorate and support the strategy and aims of the University and Student Journey Division.

Role holders will be expected to demonstrate our University values - being Daring, Innovative, Open and Respectful – in their work and be a champion and advocate for student mental wellbeing. They will be required to provide expert experience-based guidance and specialist advice proactively and reactively for student mental health and wellbeing issues and ensure a high level of appropriate support is provided to students, whilst considering the safety and wellbeing of our wider campus communities. The role holder will co-ordinate the case management of serious mental health and wellbeing cases, and students with complex support and multi-disciplinary needs, developing and helping implement innovative and supportive interventions. Candidates will have significant experience of the identification, assessment, management of risk, making professional judgements, and be able to demonstrate crisis management skills. They should have experience of assessing risk and therapeutic interventions.

With roles in Student Life there is a need for campus-based working to enable in-person student appointments (based on student preference and need) but there may be some opportunity for working remotely each week.
