We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Attendance Officer to join a vibrant secondary school community in Birmingham. This is a vital role focused on improving student attendance rates and supporting families in overcoming barriers to learning.
The RoleAs an Attendance Officer, you will be the frontline support for ensuring high levels of student participation. Your day-to-day will involve:

Monitoring daily attendance and identifying patterns of persistent absence.

Conducting home visits to engage with parents and guardians.

Liaising with senior leadership, teachers, and external support agencies.

Maintaining accurate records and producing reports on attendance data.
To be successful in this application, you must meet the following criteria:

Must have previous experience working within a UK educational setting.

A firm but empathetic approach to dealing with sensitive family situations.

Strong administrative skills and proficiency in school MIS systems (like SIMS or Arbor).

Excellent knowledge of UK safeguarding and attendance legislation.
