Summary


We are recruiting to an exciting AHP Lead post for our Adult and Older Adult Inpatient Mental Health Services, based at Prospect Park Hospital, Reading.

This role is ideally suited to a highly experienced AHP who understands the complexity, pace and challenges of inpatient mental health settings and can provide confident, visible leadership across acute wards. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with substantial experience in inpatient mental health services who are ready to step into a senior leadership role.

As AHP Lead for Inpatient Mental Health Services, you will provide senior clinical and professional leadership to AHPs working across our inpatient wards, ensuring high-quality, recovery-focused care. You will work closely with medical, nursing and operational colleagues to shape and develop services in line with national standards and Trust priorities.

You will be supported by a well-established AHP leadership structure, access to high-quality learning and development opportunities, and strong peer networks across the Trust. This is a hands-on, on-site leadership role, requiring a regular presence within the hospital to provide accessible, compassionate and responsive support to staff.

· Provideoperational line managementfor the therapy team based at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading.

· Deliverprofessional and operational leadershipto AHPs across inpatient services, living the Trust’s values and ensuring care is effective, efficient and of the highest quality for service users and their families/carers.

· Takeprofessional and clinical accountabilityfor the performance and development of AHP staff within inpatient mental health services.

· Workcollaboratively with multidisciplinary colleaguesto develop and deliver safe, effective services aligned with national targets, clinical standards and service priorities.

The “must haves” for this role:

• Qualification in an AHP profession

• Current HCPC registration

• Extensive experience of working as an AHP within mental health services

• Leadership experience
