The Opportunity An established engineering consultancy supporting nationally significant infrastructure is seeking a Contract Engineering Lead to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of critical building assets, working in a hybrid arrangement across East Anglia and London.

The Role This role would suit candidates working in these roles Senior Design Manager, Lead Building Engineer, Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, Project Engineering Lead, Architectural Engineering Lead, Infrastructure Design Lead, Built Environment Lead, Construction Design Manager. We would also welcome applications from these industries; Candidates with experience in nuclear, defence, rail, energy, utilities or complex industrial construction environments are encouraged to apply.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Take accountability as the lead technical authority for assigned building contracts, overseeing design from early concept through to fully developed solutions.
- Direct and coordinate design activities across multiple disciplines, consultants and stakeholders to ensure delivery meets programme, safety, quality and scope requirements
- Develop, manage and control technical documentation including scopes of work, specifications, design programmes and interface schedules.
- Chair and contribute to design reviews, constructability assessments and configuration management activities, ensuring designs are robust and buildable.
- Provide expert input into risk, change and impact assessments, offering clear guidance on technical, cost and schedule implications.

You will have the following qualifications and experience

- A strong background in managing building design on large, complex infrastructure or construction projects.
- Broad technical understanding of building design standards, construction methodologies and UK regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working within highly regulated or safety-critical environments, with an appreciation of nuclear or security-led requirements.
- Sound knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work or an equivalent structured design delivery framework.
- A degree in a relevant engineering or architectural discipline, with the ability to obtain UK security clearance.
