• Successful primary teaching experience or successful teaching placements.
• Teaching experience in Key Stage 1 either as a current classteacher or on placement.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 Curriculum
• Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
• A good understanding of how children learn
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
• Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
• Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
• Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
• Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
Desirable:
• Experience leading a curriculum area as a subject leader.
• Expertise in either the Arts or Humanities.
• Read, Write Inc trained and familiar with the Read, Write Inc programme of study.
• Experience of instructional coaching being a valuable model of professional development.
• Experience of using Continuous Provision in Key Stage 1

The Governing Body at Pennycross Primary School is looking to appoint 2 Key Stage 1 class teachers to work as part of the teaching team and to take on full class responsibility for either a Year 1 or Year 2 class. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is currently in the role of class teacher or is seeking their first teaching role as an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
