Summary

Children's Home Senior Support Worker

Salisbury Wiltshire

Salary & Hours:

  • £14.90 per hour
  • Overtime paid at £19.90 per hour
  • 160 hours per month, full-time contract
  • Minimum 4 sleep-in shifts per month at £65 per shift
  • WELCOME BONUS £1,500

Estimated annual salary: £28,500 to £32,000, including basic hours and regular sleep-ins

We are looking for a passionate Senior Support Worker to join our team at a brand new 4-bed children's home in Salisbury.


You'll be working with vulnerable children and young people, many of whom have experienced trauma, neglect, or disrupted family lives. Your role is vital in providing the safe, supportive, and stable environment they need to begin healing, develop life skills, and grow in confidence.


This is more than just a job - you will be a trusted adult, role model, and consistent presence in their lives. From helping with daily routines and education to encouraging hobbies and healthy relationships, you'll support each young person in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with children and young people based on respect and consistency
  • Support with emotional wellbeing, behavioural challenges, and therapeutic care plans
  • Promote education, independence, and positive social development
  • Oversee daily routines including meals, activities, and appointments
  • Mentor and guide junior team members
  • Ensure the home meets all safeguarding and regulatory standards


Requirements:

  • QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
  • Experience in residential childcare
  • Calm, resilient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Committed to providing high-quality care and helping young people thrive
