Your Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the service as a Business Administrator Apprentice and gain real-world experience while studying towards a Level 3 Business Administration qualification.

If you are someone with lived experience of the Care System, this role would benefit from someone that can bring their experience to inform and support service delivery.

The role as an apprentice within Adoption Counts, Regional Adoption Agency will including administrative support responsibilities including data entry, document management and dealing with general enquiries.

Supporting the on-going exchange of letters between adopters and birth parents, - scanning, uploading, printing and sending letters and reminders of when exchanges are due.

Working alongside your colleagues communicating with the public via telephone, email and letter.
You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team helping to provide excellent services.

We can offer 1 day a week dedicated to study time, monthly workshops at Frontier House Business Centre (M50 3SR), full support from experienced colleagues and mentors and a chance to build your skills and confidence in a professional environment.

In addition to learn and complete a range of administrative processes to support the successful completion of your Business Administrator Level 3 qualification

Important eligibility note:
This apprenticeship is designed for individuals at the start of their business administration career. Unfortunately, those with significant prior work experience in administration or a qualification at Level 4 (or above) in business or a related subject may not be eligible for funding and therefore cannot apply.

About You

We are looking for an individual that is:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and confidence to take messages from customers over the phone and work well with other team members and services
  • Effective organisational skills
  • A good standard of written English
  • Able to work accurately and to deadline
  • Willing to work flexibly to support the team’s core work and other objectives
  • Experience of using office I.T applications e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willing to undertake training to build or develop administrative skills
  • If you don’t have experience in all these areas, we’ll help you develop the skills and experience you do have with our full training package.
