Summary

Three Roses Homes is a registered charity that provides residential care for 14 adults with learning disabilities. Some of our individuals have also developed dementia and/or varying degrees of mobility problems.

While all applicants who wish to work in the field of learning disability care will be considered, preference is given to those with:

Level 2 or Level 3 Adult Health and Social Care qualification
12 months experience of working with Learning Disabilities .
At least 2 years experience of working in a Health and Social Care setting.
The work includes:

Participating in the assessment of the needs of individual service users.
Supporting individuals according to their agreed care plans.
Promoting individual choice and involvement in their decision-making.
Enabling them to have new experiences and opportunities.
Being responsible for their care, including physical (such as basic cleanliness and hygiene) and emotional needs.
Assisting with daily activities alongside other Care Staff and Activity Coordinators.
Taking individuals to appointments and on trips when required.
Ensuring that individuals have the things that they need and want e.g. toiletries, new clothing etc.
Assisting with administering individuals’ medications as needed.
Ensuring good communication with the important people in the individuals lives, including other professionals where necessary.
Helping maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Hygiene and Health & Safety minimum standards, and reporting all accidents to your Line Manager as soon as possible.
Reading and completing reports, recording notes and keeping up-to-date with individual care plans.
Participating in training / courses / staff meetings, as directed or recommended by senior staff / the Manager.
Undertaking other duties, as necessary, to support our service users, including household tasks such as laundry, cleaning, preparing food.
Working as a team with the other staff to ensure the smooth running of the home and to maintain the homely environment.
In all contacts you will be required to present a good image of the home as well as maintaining constructive relationships.

If working on Xmas, Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day, pay is at double time
Schedule:

Mostly 12 hour shifts [8am -8pm], with some 6 - 7 hour shifts. While we aim to keep the shifts scheduled in a repeating routine from one 4-week rota to the next, there will be the opportunity for extra shifts, including nightshifts where necessary, to cover annual or other leave etc. of colleagues.
Pay:

Hourly rate £13.12
