Summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our expanding patient centred and supportive ENT department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting time to join us with opportunity to support inpatient and outpatient transformation as part of a blended workforce as we develop inpatient and outpatient pathways.
Our ENT service has a small team of 5 consultants, two speciality doctors, two speciality trainees and 6 junior doctors. This role will requirethe delivery of face-to-face onsite clinical sessions. The provision of assessment and management of a range of ENT conditions. Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care. Stay current with advancements in ENT treatments, technologies, and best practices.
This post will provide the successful candidate with excellent experience and training in ENT.
This post will offer candidates a unique opportunity to consolidate their experience in a busy and supportive NHS foundation hospital and provide a stepping-stone to the next level of clinical experience. Theywill have educational teaching, learning and assessment equivalent to those on national speciality programmes.
Each doctor will have an educational supervisor in line with the speciality GMC curriculum.
• Co-ordinate the day-to-day care of patients across all wards.
• Involvement in complex clinical management problems and multi-disciplinary discharge planning under the supervision of the registrar.
• To support the review of patients from varying clinical services including paediatrics and cardio thoracic.
• Engage fully with departmental clinical audit, clinical governance, and quality improvement activities.
• Be on call approximately 1 in 6 resident with prospective cover to meet the needs of the service.
• Undertake appropriate administrative duties related to clinical practice.
• Actively contribute to teaching, service development, and continuous professional development programmes. Study leave will be available.
• Maintain up-to-date compliance with mandatory training and GMC re validation requirements.
• Co-ordinatetheday-to-daycareofpatientsacrossallwards.
• Involvementincomplexclinicalpatientmanagementproblemsandmulti-disciplinary discharge planning.
• Tosupportthereviewofpatientsfromvaryingclinical services including paediatrics and cardio thoracic.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is situated on the west coast of Lancashire, with services covering the local authority areas of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. We also have specialised Cardio-thoracic Surgical and Sleep Medicine services (including polysomnography) and provide urgent and emergency care services to an estimated 18 million people who visit the seaside resort each year.
The timetable for this role include reviewing patients in Accident and Emergency Department (A/E), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and ENT patients on the wards, You will also be required to assist the consultant within the theatre environment. You will work / liaise with a multi-disciplinary teamof specialist and cancer nurses, speech therapists, audiologistsandanaudiologicalscientistwhorunsa well-establishedbalanceclinic. Provide day-to-day clinical management for a broad range of acute and elective ENT patients.
