Summary

As a member of the Dementia Education team, contribute to the overall training GDTES programme in conjunction with the Dementia Education Leads, other trainers and Professional Leads. Analyse the education, training and development needs of staff in line with Health Education England, Dementia Training Standards Framework (2018) Work effectively with service users, formal and informal carers involving them in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of training and education activities. Develop and deliver training to a wide range of disciplines and agencies taking into account and supporting relevant legislation, national policies and standards, regional and local strategies and how these impact on practice. Identify and liaise effectively with a variety of voluntary, private and other statutory organisations. Undertake curriculum development, design, delivery, commissioning and evaluation of a diverse range of training and education programmes from induction through to degree level. Mapping training/education to DoH Health Education England, Dementia Training Standards Framework (2018) Assist with the effective establishment and leadership of working groups specifically tasked with commissioning an aspect of the training plan relating to mental health linked to organisational strategic plans e.g. development of a service. In conjunction with managers and professional leads identify and effectively contribute to the continuing professional development of staff employed in health, social care, community, charitable, voluntary and private organisations. In partnership with the GDTES, professional leads and other colleagues within specialism and contribute to the annual review of GDTES priorities. Work with the GDTES administrator to ensure that effective systems of evaluation are in place and quality assurance maintained and continually developed. Support service development by providing training and educational expertise across the mental health community and liaise effectively to ensure provision is relevant and responsive to current developments & staff needs. Undertake continuing professional development in order to reflect current practice and service provision in the field of dementia and education. Actively take part in appraisal and supervision and workload management. Undertake such other duties consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility to ensure continuous service delivery.
