Pay: £13.00+, depending on experience.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 08:00-17:00 & Friday 08:00-13:00

Job Purpose
As an Assembly Line Operative, you will be responsible for preparing components for the paint process. This role involves following detailed work instructions and may include reading and interpreting technical drawings. Many of the parts we finish requires an intricate preparation process before moving on to the painting and finishing stage.

This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in precision and enjoy hands-on, detailed and often intricate work.

Key Responsibilities
• Preparation Work: Prepare metal and composite components for the paint process using various techniques such as sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming.
• Following Instructions: Adhere to designated processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Quality Inspection: Perform dimensional and visual inspections of your work to ensure high-quality standards are met.
• Technical Drawings: Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure precise preparation and finishing of components.
• Equipment Handling: Operate and maintain various tools and equipment used in the preparation and finishing process.
• Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhere to health and safety regulations, and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.

Qualifications and Experience
• Education: A good general education.
• Experience: 1+ years in a manufacturing or engineering environment, preferably with experience in paint finishing or a similar field. Additionally, experience in masking, including the car industry, or a similar role of preparing metal components for painting would be highly advantageous.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is highly desirable.
• Attention to Detail: High level of manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to perform precision tasks.
• Communication: Good communication skills and understanding of written and spoken English.

• Strong attention to detail and task accuracy.
• Exceptional visual acuity to perform detailed inspections and identify small defects in aerospace components.
• Good dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Basic maths skills and the ability to perform dimensional measurements.
• Strong adherence to standard operating procedures and quality management frameworks, including tasks requiring visual inspections to meet safety and regulatory standards.
