Summary

To lead a Theatre Recovery team in providing perioperative patient care. CLINICALPerform comprehensive assessment of peri-operative patient care needs, plan,implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs /technology and varying levels of complexity.Collect, evaluate and report information, maintaining accurate patient records to enableeffective care delivery.Involve the multidisciplinary team and where possible patients and carers/relatives in theplanning and delivery of care.Work collaboratively with other professionals and departments to ensure patient needsare met, especially with regard to efficient enhancement of the patient journey within thespeciality.Establish and maintain effective communication with multi- disciplinary team, patientsand carers/relatives.Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations,Treat all information regarding clients and patients as confidential. MANAGERIAL/LEADERSHIPAct as an effective role modelExpedite excellent organisational skills and demonstrate leading a team and co-ordinating the recovery area ensuring an optimal level of responsibility and safety.Deputise for the Theatre Recovery Manager/ Speciality Lead in their absence.Accept delegated line management responsibilities of other team members includingperformance development reviews and provide counselling & support where necessary.Support the Theatre Recovery Manager to maximise best use of clinical resources, implementing best practice in patient flow, and the patient's journey.Participate in the recruitment process of the recovery service.Promotes innovation and the development of services within the speciality area and assist the Theatre Recovery Manager /Speciality Lead to implement change.Ensure the effective and efficient use of physical and financial resources: reportingfluctuations and developments in a timely manner.Monitor health, safety and security of self and others.Promote best practice in the theatre area.Clinical Governance / QualityAssist as required in departmental audit.Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and clinical guidelines for self and others;participate in the development of the same.Continually monitor standards of care and participate in leading the improvement of care,through benchmarking, audit and research,Support patient and public involvement activities in the theatre area as appropriate, leadingto service improvement.Ensure compliance with untoward incident reporting & near misses.Promote people's equality, diversity and rights.Assist the Theatre Recovery Manager in the effective use and monitoring the quality of supplies Iequipment.Education and training developmentParticipate with the theatre-training department in providing education and developmentopportunities for a theatre team.Develop own clinical knowledge and participate in the development of others. (KSFDimension Level)Ensure own compliance and compliance of others regarding mandatory training andprofessional development requirements. Assist the Theatre Recovery Manager and Speciality Lead in facilitating an environment that provides staff with a range of education and training development opportunities.Act as a mentor / assessor to theatre recovery learners
